Clarolyn Maier was born in Seattle,Washington and began singing at the age of three in her father's church in Lake Oswego,Oregon where she sang hymms her grandmother , Clarolyn Targgart wrote playing the autoharp. She soon began study of the violin,piano and trombone and soon later focused on studying classical harp and musical theatre.Clarolyn attended USC's School of Theatre and graduated from UCLA with a BA in Classical Harp, Musical Theatre and Voice winning two scolarships.(Carol Burnett Award and Gil Rodin Pop Music Award)
She soon established herself as a performing artist in Los Angeles playing venues throughout the Southland and also set sail making music aboard luxury cruise ships and 5 star hotels across Europe,Asia and the Caribbean. Always continued in her studies and workshops, her beloved and iconic Broadway Vocal Coach, Calvin Remsberg suggested she audition for a NYC casting director and she landed the starring role in the tony nominated Broadway smash hit, "SWING!" touring North America and Japan.
Clarolyn has been featured with Josh Groban on his music video for "You Raise Me Up", with Steve Perry of Journey in "Quest for Camelot", was invited to perform for Julie Andrews for the movie premiere, "The Princess Diaries", has performed at The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Ottawa Jazz Festival, has been seen on numerous TV shows, has played for Presidents,Ambassadors,Diplomats and Royalty at the historic 5 Star Hotel and Palace, Kurhuas in Den Haag, Holland where the Nuclear World Summit commenced and also performed for political and diplomatic events. She has opened for jazz great, Diane Shurr and Colin Haye of Men at Work. She has been a favorite Guest Entertainer on the historic cruiseline Queen Mary 2/CUNARD world voyages doing jazz and cabaret concerts in The Royal Court Theatre and solo performances as well as The Queen Victoria in the illustrious Commodore Club. (previous Windstar,Seabourn,Princess) She has been invited to NYC to perform her Cabaret Show for the NYC Cabaret Convention at the famed "Don't Tell Mama" musical venue in Manhatten for the Mabel Mercer Foundation. She won "Entertainer of the Year" for her performance at the Harvard/ Dutch Treat Club in NYC and continues to perform worldwide in many renown Jazz and Cabaret venues.While performing at the famed Jean La Fittes Blacksmith Shop on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, New Orleans, Julian Lennon and George Michael showed up with an upright Steinway Piano at the venue for the Peace Tour/Lennonpiano.com. This instrument was the piano that John Lennon wrote "Imagine" on commencing at the place Lennon was shot. The piano toured America visiting places of tragedy and injustice. Clarolyn performed with the Steinway for the BBC.
