Clarolyn Maier began her musical journey at the age of three singing hymms her grandmother wrote and playing the autoharp in her father's church in Lake Oswego,Oregon. Her grandfather, also a preacher and mother and two Aunts were gospel recording artists and toured around the United States. Later, her mother became a professional in social work in Portland, Oregon. Clarolyn began piano and violin lessons at 7 and later took up the classical harp studying with Northwest harp pioneer, Marion Fouse of The Portland Symphony. Always active in Musical Theater, at UCLA's Dept of Music, Clarolyn won the prestigious Carol Burnett Musical Theater Award and The Hollywood Reporter hailed "Clarolyn as an outstanding performer" after attending USC's School of Theatrical Arts. Upon graduation with a degree in Harp Performance from UCLA,under the direction of LA Philharmonic Principal Harpist, Lou Anne Neill, Clarolyn became an international performer playing many venues and cruise lines around the world. Her eclectic and unique musical style has caused her to share the stage with the likes of Jazz great Diane Schurr, Michael Feinstein, opened for Colin Haye of Men at Work, performed with Quincy Jones at The American Music Awards singing along with Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Cyndy Lauper, Natalie Cole and many other stars for the original performance of "We Are the World" at the Shrine Auditorium in LA, CA. She was featured on Good Morning America with Jimmy Stewart for the Inaugural World Cruise of The Royal Viking Sun. She also was featured on Steve Perry's music video for Warner Brother's animated motion picture , "Quest for Camelot" and played harp for Josh Groban on his video, "You Raise Me Up". Clarolyn found herself one afternoon playing harp in Hugh Hefner's back yard while filming the TV show, "Party of Five"! Recently featured on the BBC for a documentary that George Michael's manager is producing called "The Peace Tour. (lennonpiano.com) John Lennon's piano that he wrote' "Imagine" on is touring the US on a mission of peace. While performing in New Orleans, Clarolyn was invited to perform "Imagine" with Lennon's piano.

Clarolyn has played nearly every Orpheum and Fox Theatre in America and sang for a crowd of thousands in Tokyo at the legendary Orchard Hall as the star of the Tony Nominated Broadway smash hit, "SWING!". Her childhood dream came true...she starred in her own Broadway Show. Her CD's "SESSIONS", "Standard Departures", "The Christmas Harp", "Into the Mystic" , and "From Hollywood to New Orleans" have received admirable reviews nationwide.

She continues to perform internationally at European Jazz venues, Jazz Festivals and has been a guest entertainer with Holland America, Princess Cruises, Royal Cruise Lines, Royal Viking Lines and other favorites. Her Cd's are available through Harpstar Records through this website.
